ReCNTR Partners with peer-reviewed PARISS Journal and invites Multimodal Contributions

ReCNTR is glad to announce that it is now co-hosting the journal PARISS, which has been focused on promoting a plurality of ways of thinking, researching and writing and to give access to contemporary authors in the social sciences coming also from non-English-speaking countries. The journal covers Social Sciences, International Relations, Global Studies, Sociology & Anthropology, Transdisciplinary approaches, Art and Humanities.

ReCNTR’s Francesco Ragazzi recently joined the group of co-editors in chief and has launched a new running theme: Multimodal International Research.

This concretely means that the journal is now accepting three possible multimodal and artistic research contributions: Multimodal Research Articles, Practice-Based Contributions and Multimodal Reviews.

Why this partnership? More often than not, in academic contexts, multimodal work is considered to be something that counts “in addition to” the “real” publications in text form. The reason to open this running theme is to show that multimodal work counts as much as text-only work. PARISS will therefore provide a space for peer-reviewed, fully referenced, DOI identified publications for a variety of unconventional formats: such as, among others, films, photo essays, auditory works, diagrammatic explorations, maps, digital installations, etc.

If you are interested in submitting your work, take a look at the conceptual article An Invitation to Multimodal International Research, as well as the specific Guidance for Multimodal Submissions (published soon). If you have further questions, please contact Francesco Ragazzi directly.
