Multimodal Remix Workshop by Federico de Musso| 8 April, 2026 | Bogotá & Medellín, Colombia

On Wednesday, April 8, our very own co-director at ReCNTR Federico de Musso, offered workshops on multimodal experimentation in as part of his visit to Colombia to students at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá and Universidad de Antioquia in Medellín.

The workshop, titled “Multimodal Remix”, proposed an experimental approach to research work with the invitation to bring a fragment of participants’ ongoing research (a quote, image, object, sound or question) to be collectively reinterpreted, exploring new ways of seeing, feeling and thinking research.
Following the long and rich tradition of previous remixing workshops hosted by ReCNTR, this iteration of the multimodal remix workshop was a collaborative work experience that can be particularly valuable to your training process. In particular, it can open up possibilities for those interested in exploring alternatives to the traditional format of degree work, incorporating multimodal languages and research-creation approaches.
Federico De Musso is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology of Leiden University and co-director at ReCNTR. He is the coordinator of the Master’s Visual Ethnography Specialization. His research and teaching interests include multimodal anthropology, political ecology, and the anthropology of food.
